| Overview: |
Capacity building is a course of action to help maximize the performance of a nonprofit. Organizational excellence. Solid Infrastructure. Strong Leadership: these are phrases that come to mind to describe a top-notch charitable organization. But how can we, as grantmakers, really contribute to building the internal strength of our grantees?
Barbara Webster-Hawkins, M.N.A., Senior Program Officer, The California Endowment (TCE), will lead this interactive workshop. Barbara leads TCE's planning for capacity building support. Her past experience includes serving as a consultant, in which she provided training and technical assistance to managers of small local nonprofit organizations in California.
Please join us and roll up your sleeves to gain knowledge and understanding of how to build a nonprofit from the inside out:
Explore the different forms of capacity building
Discover how to obtain internal buy-in to do this kind of work
Identify and define the true needs of the grantee organization
Outline a sample plan with specific potential strategies and interventions
Assess the impact over time
