Program: Getting Down to Facts: An Analysis of California’s School Finance and Governance Systems
"Getting Down to Facts" is a research project designed to provide California’s citizens with comprehensive information about the status of the state’s school finance and governance systems. The Project brought together an extraordinary array of scholars from 32 institutions with diverse expertise and policy orientations, and laid the groundwork for substantive discussions about needed reforms. Funding was provided by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, The James Irvine Foundation, and The Stuart Foundation.
Susanna Loeb, Associate Professor of Education and Director for the Institute of Research Education Policy & Practice at Stanford University and the principle researcher on this project, will present and lead the discussion on the findings and implications of the study for San Diego.
